a love letter
I love how cute and puffy your eyes are in the morning. You are so stubborn and can’t tell a lie and can’t fake it even for a second. You refuse to be someone else besides yourself even when you don’t know exactly who you are. You keep trying. You can see beauty in so much and you feel peace and contentment often, especially when you are having a snack. I love how much you dance when you’re alone and it’s so fun when you sing. I love how you only have one dimple when you smile and only sometimes. You are very beautiful and also hot. You are really funny and you love to make people laugh, especially when you can tell they feel uncomfortable or shy because you know that feeling well. You are so generous and love to reply to all your friends’ Instagram stories. I love the sexy meals you make for yourself, and I love that they are almost always pasta. I love your mind and how much space it makes for feelings and forgiveness. I love how you connect with your body and try to make it stronger, sturdier, and more resilient. You are incredibly smart but not in ways that make people feel bad. It’s so funny how much you know about sports. You are surprising in that way. I love that you wear stained and tattered clothes all the time but don’t think of them as damaged. You suck at dressing business casual, and I think that is cool as hell. You are so fucking brave even though you are pretty much always scared. You struggle so much but you try very hard and that is beautiful. You have an eye for things that have a certain magic and you don’t settle for less. I love the nest you have made for yourself, full of scraps and bits of you that you collect and display with pride. You’ve made your own little world that feels safe and special and I love it here.
